Going Out of Country for Plastic Surgery

It really doesn’t matter who you are, what job you have, or where you live, it is still possible for you to be unhappy with how you look. Many of us look in the mirror day after day only to be disappointed and unhappy with something about our appearance. It’s ok to be unhappy with how you look. Not everyone is fortunate to be born looking like a super model. Even some super models don’t like something about their appearance at one time or another. What you need to understand is that you don’t have to continue to be unhappy day after day. If you don’t like how you look, fix it. Sometimes it takes more than a new haircut to make you happy, sometimes it takes cosmetic surgery to fix what you don’t like about your appearance. It’s ok, and it doesn’t have to be an unpleasant experience.

What if I told you that there was a place you could visit to fulfill all of your cosmetic surgery needs by accredited cosmetic surgeons while relaxing in paradise. Well if you book your cosmetic surgery needs through a medical tourism agency then you can have finest doctors in Brazil performing you cosmetic surgery. Yes, I said Brazil. Just because it’s in another country doesn’t mean they don’t take their cosmetic surgery seriously. Brazil offers around 4,000 registered cosmetic surgeons. All of Brazil’s cosmetic surgeons are board certified in Brazil and are active members of Brazilian Society of Plastic Surgery. This is extremely comparable to what is offered in the United States, but with a twist.

When you book your cosmetic surgery vacation in Brazil, you not only get your body transformation that you have been dreaming about, but you get to do it in a country that boasts some of the most beautiful beaches in the world. When booking through a medical tourism agency, all of you cosmetic surgery needs are fulfilled. They take care of all your transportation needs to and from the airport as well as to and from the hospital. In your procedure pre-op consultation, your medical procedure and your post-op checkups are all included in the cost of your surgery. This not only saves you a bunch of money, but time as well.

All the surgeries are performed in preferred medical facilities that have been fully accredited by the Brazilian Ministry of Health. Also any type of cosmetic surgery procedure you could think of is performed in Brazil. These procedures include face lifts, ear surgery, dentistry, dermatology, butt lifts, hair transplants,
tummy tucks, eye surgery, breast augmentation, liposuction, calf implants, and rhinoplasty. No matter what you wish to have transformed on your body, the medical tourism agencies can customize your vacation to fit your plastic surgery needs while in Brazil, whether it be lipo or a tummy tuck.

Remember, there are many things in our lives that we can’t change; your body isn’t one of them. You can make your body what you wish it to be with a cosmetic surgery vacation in Brazil.

About Plastic Surgery

Plastic surgery is a surgical specialization that focuses on the correction of a variety of disfigurements and the improvement of appearance. Plastic surgery is generally divided into two general areas: Reconstructive and Cosmetic surgery. Reconstructive surgery focuses on improving impairments to function. Cosmetic surgery tends to focus on enhancing appearance for aesthetic purposes.

Plastic surgery, while generally considered a twentieth century phenomenon, was being performed in very basic forms around two thousand years ago in India. The Romans, though they did not engage in dissections, also performed corrective surgeries on injured ears. The eighteenth and nineteenth centuries saw an explosion of interest in reconstructive surgery in Europe. British and German physicians were interested in reconstructive techniques; rhinoplasty (surgery on the nose) was of particular interest to them. Some British physicians went so far as to travel to India to study the procedures performed there.

This was a dangerous era in which to have any surgery, let alone elective surgeries, performed. The conditions for surgery would be considered extremely unsanitary in modern terms. The surgical implements used as a common practice would be considered primitive if not barbaric today. The lack of anesthesia and antibiotics made any surgery during this period a risky and very painful business. The risks of post-surgical infections were very high with very few means of dealing with them.

The extraordinary technological advances of the twentieth century have made both surgery, in general, and plastic surgery much safer and more common. The development of general anesthetic has made surgery less painful and allowed for longer, more effective surgery. The advances in sanitation and antibiotic medication have significantly reduced the risks of post-operative infections.

Some common techniques employed by plastic surgeons include incision, excision, microsurgery, laser surgery, and liposuction. Another technique frequently employed is the skin graft, usually seen with burn
victims. The major types of grafts are:

Autografts: Skin grafts taken from the patient.
Allografts: Skin grafts taken from a human donor.
Xenografts: Skin grafts taken from non-human donor.

Reconstructive surgery is generally performed to repair issues stemming from burns, injuries, congenital defects, developmental abnormalities, and infections. While this type of surgery is generally reserved for dealing with problems of function, it can sometimes be used to produce a more “normal” appearance. This is usually performed in cases where defects, abnormalities, or injury have caused disfigurement sufficient to create severe social ostracization.

Cosmetic surgery is performed for the specific purpose of maintaining or enhancing the appearance. Unlike reconstructive surgery which may be prescribed as part of treatment, cosmetic surgery is purely elective surgery and is rarely covered by insurance policies. Some of the most common forms of cosmetic surgery are:

Abdominosplasty: also called a tummy tuck
Breast Augmentation
Breast Reduction
Breast lift
Chemical peel
Collagen injections
Rhinoplasty: also called a nose job
Rhytidectomy: also called a face lift
Otoplasty: a surgery to reshape the ear.
Liposuction
Chin augmentation

While cosmetic plastic surgery is often perceived to be safer thanother surgeries, that idea is an error. Cosmetic surgery has the samerisks as any surgery requiring general anesthetic. Nonetheless, it is a popular form of surgery, despite the high costs involved with theprocedures. In 2007, nearly 12 million cosmetic procedures were performed in the United States alone.

The key to great weight loss

Weight loss is a never ending battle for most of us. No matter how hard we try to lose those extra 10 pounds, they seem to always come back. After many years of yo-yo dieting and trying outrageous techniques, I have discovered that the old-fashioned way is the best way to lose the weight and keep it off. However, the down side to this is the weight is going to come off much slower than most of us want, but patience is the key. For most of us, getting the adequate amount of exercise isn’t possible because we think we are too busy or too tired, however, if squeezing in just 30 minutes a day is possible, it would make a huge difference. Exercise can be done while watching television so there really shouldn’t be any excuse.

Too many of us are quick to complain that we don’t have the right equipment or have the extra money for a gym membership, but in reality it is a matter of actually getting off our lazy behinds (even during a commercial) and doing simple push-ups or even yoga poses. I am one who likes to workout, but I must be motivated so lately I haven’t. However, I have found that using those commercial breaks on my favorite television show can help make all the difference. I have found that there are simple yoga poses that will work the core and I do those for the 2-2 1/2 minutes and then I get back on the couch and enjoy my program. That is the best of both worlds right there!

Along with exercise, eating balanced and well proportioned meals and snacks are huge. I am a firm believer in never depriving your body of what it is telling you, however, moderation is the key to this success. We all know what is good for us and what is not so overall, keeping our portion sizes in control is the hardest thing for most of us to do. Allow yourself to eat a cookie, however, stop at one rather than eating two. If pizza is a weakness, then instead of eating say the normal four pieces, eat two. Reality is that most of us are addicted to food in some way whether we want to admit or not, however, if we slowly break ourselves away then it won’t be a problem and only eating one cookie or one slice of cake will be much easier. It is important to try to get in the daily required amounts from the food pyramid and it really shouldn’t be a problem considering there are so many different ways to consume fruits, vegetables, and other important vitamins and minerals we need.

It is very important to remember that we take care of ourselves first. There are too many of us who often forget that if we don’t take care of ourselves first, we won’t be able to take care of others to the fullest of our ability. Do research on weight loss! There isn’t a magic forumla and it will take time and an honest effort, however, it can be done safely and effectively. However, the work has to be done because weight won’t automatically melt away. So stay strong and remember you can do it!

Know What Drugs You Take and What the Side Effects Are

Believing the flood of advertisement on television, radio, and billboards Americans are being duped into
paying money for a drug that claims to have fewer side effects then the older and cheaper drugs such as ibuprofen or other similar drugs. These new drugs acronymed NSAIDs, because of the non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug qualities, have been known to send over one hundred thousand people to the hospital for gastrointestinal bleeding and out of that number sixteen thousand of them do not survive.  The COX-2 inhibitors are popular because they make this claim that they are safer when in all actuality they are not.

The makers of Celebrex have been found to falsify the reports of their products side effects. This is unethical in the pharmaceutical industry and a lot of devoted Celebrex fans are looking elsewhere for relief of their arthritis and investors are beginning to worry about the future of the company. To add insult to injury, not only has the company lied to their customers about the side effects that they knew were present in the drug, but they also tried to change research results.  Changing research results not only compromises the integrity of the science involved in the research, but any research that is derived from that falsified study
is now in jeopardy of producing misleading results that could cost people money and at most their lives.

Since then additional health risks have been uncovered by honest researchers.  The investigation has caused similar drugs such as Vioxx and Bextra to be removed off the shelves because of concern of misleading labels and dishonest claims. Vioxx was removed from the shelves in September of 2004 and Bextrea
was removed in April of 2005.  Why are the makers of these COX-2 inhibitors trying to deceive the public in such a dangerous fashion? Is making money more important than providing the public with well researched
prescription drugs more important?

The side effects were not little either.  It wasn’t nausea or dizziness nor was it diarrhea or stomach problems.  The COX-2 inhibitors have caused an increased risk of kidney problems.  These could include kidney infection or even the shut down of the entire organ.  We have two kidneys and can live with one, but these drugs attacked both of them leaving the sufferer in dire straits.  The other side effect was the delay
in healing of fractures.  These could put thousands of people out of work and out of their lifestyle because they are waiting for a fracture to heal and they have to sit around in a cast or brace.

Losing Weight with Supplements

Losing weight is difficult for everyone because diets don’t work.  What works is a lifestyle change and that includes the way you think and feel about food and exercise.  When you change your lifestyle to include healthy foods you might consider taking a weight-loss supplement to help augment your weight loss.  Weight loss supplements are very popular and many are now approved by the FDA - Food and Drug Administration which deems them safe to take.

Weight-loss supplements and losing weight will make you feel better, give you more confidence and
boost your energy and also heal many health problems related to weight.  Many people who embark on a weight-loss program cannot do it alone and that’s why they rely on weight-loss supplements to help them get through the day.  Many weight loss supplements help curb your appetite so you are not always hungry or craving certain foods.  Some of these weight-loss supplements even target hard to lose weight places such as your stomach, butt and thighs.

But a weight-loss supplement and eating right is not the only way to lose weight, you must also incorporate
exercise into your daily weight-loss regimen.  By moving more and eating less you will be able to attain your weight loss goal and you will be able to maintain it using the weight-loss supplements and a balanced diet along with the exercise.  You can start off small by parking at the back of the parking lot and walking to work or riding your bicycle to work if you will work within a couple miles of your house; you can take the stairs instead of the elevator once you get to work; you can use your lunch hour for walking around the block several times or the building and you can walk in place during your favorite television show if you don’t have a treadmill.

By eating sensibly, using whole grains instead of white bread base grains, not using a lot of dairy products, eating lots of fresh fruit and leafy green vegetables in addition to colorful vegetables and then using a weight-loss supplement you will lose the weight you need in practically no time at all.

Weight Loss and Diet Can Help You Prevent Arthritis

What you put in your body affects what you body looks like and how it feels. If you wolf down a Big Mac for lunch everyday you are saturating your body with fat and carbohydrates that can set you up for conditions like heart disease, diabetes, and gout. If you eat too much of something or too little of something it can affect the way you look and feel dramatically.  Arthritis and pain associated with inflamed joints can be reduced and sometime eliminated. Keeping a diet of low fat foods and a lot of vegetables and other plant type foods can have a dramatic effect on reducing your inflamed joints.

Vegetarians and people who have started vegetarian diets have been shown to have fewer instances of arthritis but also other systems in their body have improved significantly.  A healthy diet makes a healthy person and what you put in your mouth and swallow is where your destiny will be.  Good foods like fruits and grains are a great source of nutrients that you need to be healthy.  Omega-3 fatty oils from sardines, salmon, trout, and albacore tuna are a great way to help your arthritis but as a bonus, these oils make an excellent source of brain food that helps your retain memory and improve brain function.

The lack of good nutrition can be attributed to all sorts of ailments and illnesses.  For example that if you take in a lot of protein (meats and cheeses) you can cause your calcium to become unbalanced and all the calcium that was supposed to go to strengthen your bones is now being excreted in waste.  Your body is a balanced machine.  Anything that is out of whack will cause the system to go haywire and you can get some
really negative results.  In the case of the unbalanced calcium, all you have to do is to reduce the amount of protein you are ingesting and the balance should go back to what it should be.

Now think about this with everything that you eat and drink.   You have to start making life style changes.  This means that you need to really look at what you are eating and doing in your life now and plan what are you going to take out of your life that will make a positive impact.  If you are eating fast foods two or three times a week, try to reduce to once a week.  It won’t kill you to go without all those fatty foods.  Look at how many nutrients that you get each day and change that number to reflect your goal and with you reading this reducing inflammation and pain from arthritic condition.

To reach this goal you have to give up some things but you also have start adding things.  You probably don’t have enough nutrients taken in to stop the pain and discomfort of arthritis, so you may want to consider taking supplements and adding smart foods to your diet.  Smart foods are the foods that are specifically good at targeting the ailment and help alleviate the pain. You can find out what you need to eat and can supplement the food if the food you are eating does not have enough nutrients to do the job you want them to.

Relieve your Arthritis Pain with Non-Surgical Treatments

Of course there is surgical treatments that can relieve arthritic pain and there are powerful drugs like Oxycontin which can dope you up so much that you really don’t care if the pain is there are not, but non-surgical treatment is the smartest choice if you do not want to pay huge medical bills or have your body cut open.  A non-surgical treatment that has helped millions relieve their suffering from arthritis and the pain associated with it is Prolotherapy.  The idea behind this therapy is that most of your pain and inflammation are coming from weak tendons and ligaments.

As we age we become weaker and the bones and skeleton system also becomes weaker.  Tendon and ligaments that help the bones hold the body in good posture and a strait appearance is essential.  When our bones, tendons, and ligaments start loosing their strength, more pressure is put on our joints and joint pain and arthritis can be the result.  The tendons and ligaments become weak and start moving out of the proper position and this can move the joints into different angles that put stress on the joint and the  tissues that are surrounding it.

Without even reading further, you can see that a joint working at an improper angle could cause pain.  If you ever had a finger or shoulder get knocked out of joint, you know the pain is excruciating.  So if you put a little pressure on a joint that is misaligned, you can see where some of your arthritic pain is coming from.  There are a lot of nerves around your joints and any repositioning of the ball or socket would mean the presence of pain, either minor or severe. There are so many nerve endings around your joint, that the messages of pain can be transferred to muscles and other organs around that joint.

Prolotherapy has been proven in several clinical trials in which the control group was given a placebo and the variable group was given injections.  The results showed that most of the patients that received Prolotherapy had less pain and some reported no pain at all.  The prolotherapy studies lasted almost three decades and the results went far beyond arthritic pain.  Lower back pain was reduced as was reduced as was pain associated with the joints.  The tendons tightened and the angle of the ball and socket of the joint was put back in place.  Over eighty percent of the patients who tried Prolotherapy were cured or displayed significant
loss of pain.

How does Prolotherapy work?  Injections of a solution are not put into the joint that is causing the pain, but rather into the ligaments and tendons that are weak.  The solution creates the same thing you are trying to get rid of, inflammatory reactions.  The inflamed areas tell the body it needs to produce collagen.  As the collagen races toward the inflamed tendon or ligament, a counter reaction of the ligament or tendon occurs.
They react like a tightened muscle and become stronger than they were before the solution.  The patients regained mobility in joints and muscles sometimes better than they had before the pain started to become apparent.

Most people who have elected to try Prolotherapy could spend up to six months enduring weekly injections.
To be warned, the injections can be quite painful according to the location of the joint affected and what
muscles and other tissues are near the joint.  There are some cases in which the patient only has to have as few as eight or so injections before the pain decreases or goes away completely.  This is pretty rare but it is according to the severity of the weakness of the tendons and ligaments.  If the ligament has a tear or rip, it could take even longer.
